Commitment to Your Acting Career

Updated: Jan 30

Our commitment is to help develop each actor to their full potential, which means understanding themselves and how to work for themselves. iA recognize each actor as an individual first, then as an actor. Each actor has to understand the process first, then work on it in many areas to become a complete actor. To understand this, we will help the actor recognize their strengths and weaknesses, enhance the strengths, and develop the weaknesses to become strengths.

Commitment involves understanding the business of acting, including CVs, headshots, showreels, etc. Knowing how to carry yourself and come to each workshop with preparation. Reading scripts, finding a role that is right for you, and a scene you can work on. Thinking about the character and how you relate to the role. Thinking about the process and having a game plan.

Commitment to this process means taking time each day to work on the character and role, looking at how the character dresses, moves, talks, and their mannerisms. Work on this piece by piece to make this process your own, not just for workshops but for your future work. Preparation means commitment, making this your main focus in life. When at the studio, focus on your game plan and be straightforward about what you are going to bring in tonight.

Commitment means being an individual and letting the world know who you are. Believe in yourself, set goals for this year and the next five years. Tell yourself that no one will outwork you. Show confidence and belief in your choices. Remember, failure is also a learning opportunity to grow from.

In summary, commitment is about looking in the mirror each day and saying, "I did my best." When you do this consistently, you have a shot at a real future.
